THE ESTATE'S TREASURER'S REPORT (Last Years 2007) Since my last report the membership has increased marginally, mainly due to new residents joining the CPEA. Since collating the replies to our recent survey regarding security, it was somewhat surprising to see that one third of the responses agreeing to contribute were from non-members! It is therefore puzzling that although these residents are happy to pay £100.00 or more per year for this purpose, they are unwilling to pay £75.00 per year for CPEA membership! I urge these thirty residents to join next January and increase our membership up to the level of 1999. Please note that if you pay by direct debit or by cash/cheque before 31st January, you will be entitled to a discount of £10.00. A Direct Debit Mandate can be found in this magazine. There are still a number of residents who have not opted for this method of payment and I strongly recommend you to pay this way, which makes life easier for everyone. May I ask members who pay by direct debit to check your bank statements in January/February and ensure that your bank pays your membership fee on time. This year there were many instances where banks had sent payments up to three months late causing unnecessary telephone calls and time wasting. Your co-operation in this matter would be very much appreciated. The committee has now decided to offer benefits to residents who are CPEA members, such as reduced price tickets to concerts and other social events, so in the end it will benefit you to be a member.
